Akzo Nobel wins Sijthoff-prize
Specialty chemicals group AkzoNobel has won this year’s Henri Sijthoff prizes for the best financial reporting. The winners were announced during a gathering in the Hilton Hotel in Amsterdam. Finance minister Jan Kees de Jager presented the statuette to the winners. The Henri Sijthoff award is an initiative of Het Financieele Dagblad, with the objective of contributing to improved financial reporting by the Dutch business community.
The award was initiated in 1954 by the newspaper’s owner and director at the time, Mr H.A.H. Sijthoff. AkzoNobel, winner in the category of ‘Amsterdam Exchange Index (AEX) companies’, was praised for its attractive, not too jargon-filled annual report.
